Local Law #1 in the Year 2014
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Caroga Fulton County New York this 8th day of October 2014
TITLE: Amanda’s Law, “A Law Regulating Ice Shanties in the Town of Caroga.”
The Purpose of this Local Law is to contribute to the safety of all who recreate or traverse the frozen lake waters within the Town of Caroga during Ice fishing season.
Ice shanties placed upon any waters located in the Town of Caroga must display a minimum of 48 running inches of 3 inch wide reflective tape or 1 square foot of reflective surface on each side of the shanty.
The reflective surface shall not block the required New York State identification requirements.
Owners of shanties found without reflective material shall be subject to a fine of up to $50.00
This Local Law shall take effect upon its filing with the Department of State.

NOTICE is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the Town Board of the Town of Caroga on Wednesday November 12, 2014 at 7 pm at the Town Hall, 1840 State Highway 10 Caroga Lake NY on proposed Local Law #2 of the Year 2014 is Entitled “A Local Law to Override the Tax Levy Limit Established in General Municipal Law 3-c,” Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Caroga, County of Fulton as follows:
It is the intent of this local law to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Caroga pursuant to General Municipal Law § 3-c, and to allow the Town of Caroga to adopt a budget for the fiscal year 2015 that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by General Municipal Law § 3-c.

A few years ago The Nick Stoner Seniors created a Lending Library at Town Hall. With the Help of Linda Stevens we are expanding to include children’s books. If you have children’s books you would like to donate just drop them off at town hall. Everyone is welcome to take a book or two home or to donate books for others to enjoy.
